Easy Chicken Cacciatore
Easy Chicken Cacciatore
  • Brown & remove from skillet:
  • 2 -2 2½ lbs frying chicken
  • 3 Tbsp shortening
  • Salt and Pepper
  • ½ Cup Sliced Onion
  • ½ Cup Chopped Celery
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 1 Cup Catsup
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Tbsp Parsley
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar
  • OR 2 Tbsp Red Wine

Brown chicken in skillet with shortening or oil. Then remove chicken and set aside

In the same pan, and oil, lightly brown the celery, onions and garlic.

Stir in the catsup, water and remaining ingredients.

Return chicken to the skillet. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes, or until chicken is tender.

Cook Time: 1.5 Hrs
